Q: Will you please suggest some exercises for hand weights when on the go?
A: I could suggest many things to do with hand weights! I don't know if you have seen any of my previous articles that deal with strength training workouts, but those may be a good place to start. You could just start with some basic exercises for the upper body like the chest press, one-arm row, upright row, tricep kickback, and bicep curl. Squats, where you basically pretend to sit down and then stand up, are one of the best for lower body. As far as carrying weights around, I don't think you have to do that, mostly because it may throw off your natural stride, but also because you could just walk faster or walk up hills in order to challenge your cardiovascular system and boost your metabolism. Just time yourself and track your progress in a log book and see how you've improved! You have to progress in your program to get results; don't get stuck in a rut and you'll be on your way!
